An introduction to who we are, why this exists, and what you can expect to find here.
I've been trying to figure out how to write this first post for longer than I'm willing to admit. Every time I sat down to do it I kept starting with something that sounded polished and intentional and put together. And then I'd delete it. Because that's not what this is.
So here's the real version.
My name is Tia.
I'm a mom to two kids who are my whole world. I run a liquidation and resale store in Harrison, Michigan. I train in MMA and BJJ. I sing on my church worship team. I design my own merchandise. I've been in e-commerce for eighteen years. I'm building a community and a podcast and a platform for women who need somewhere to land.
I've also rebuilt my life from scratch more than once. I've stayed too long in things that cost me. I've cried in my car more times than I can count. I've made mistakes that I'm still learning from and carried things that were too heavy and showed up anyway because there was no other option.
I am not a therapist. I am not a life coach. I do not have it figured out.
What I have is 34 years of showing up and a genuine belief that ordinary women's stories matter — and that most of them have never been asked to tell them. That belief is what built everything you're looking at right now.

So what is The Feral Feed?
It's the blog arm of The Feral Gathering — the community and storytelling platform I've been building for women who have been through something and are still standing.
The Feral Feed is where I write. Where the women of this community write. Where the conversations that start on the podcast and in The Feral Table community group get to live a little longer and go a little deeper.
You'll find:
- Personal essays — honest reflections on rebuilding, motherhood, faith, business, grief, resilience, and the beautiful mess of being a real human woman in the middle of her story
- Community voices — words from the women of The Feral Gathering. Their stories in their own words. Unpolished. Unedited for palatability. Real.
- Practical things — because surviving something and rebuilding something require actual tools. Business advice, resale knowledge, community resources, whatever is useful
- Faith — woven through everything because it is woven through me. This is a wide table and everyone is welcome at it regardless of where they are spiritually. But you will see my faith here because you cannot separate it from the rest of me.
- The honest stuff — the things we don't usually say out loud. The 2am thoughts. The version of the story nobody posts about.
Why Feral?
Because something feral has returned to its natural state after being domesticated.
And I think a lot of us know what it feels like to have been tamed down — by relationships, by circumstances, by years of making ourselves smaller to keep the peace — and then one day you look up and you don't recognize yourself anymore.
This community exists for the women who are in the process of coming back to themselves. The ones who are still feral at their core even when everything around them tried to make them otherwise.
That includes me. It probably includes you. That's why you're here.
Something feral has returned to its natural state after being domesticated. That includes me. It probably includes you.
What this is not.
This is not a highlight reel.
This is not a platform where we perform healing for an audience. Where we only share the parts of the story that have a tidy ending. Where we pretend to have it together because having it together seems more credible.
If you came here looking for that you are going to be disappointed and I am completely okay with that.
What you will find here is people telling the truth about where they are. Not where they ended up. Not where they're headed. Where they are right now — messy and complicated and real and still worth documenting.
The Feral Feed is not just mine. It belongs to this community. If you have something to say — a story you've been carrying, a hard thing you've walked through, a lesson you learned the expensive way — there is a place for it here. You don't have to be a writer. You don't have to have it figured out. You don't have to be healed. You just have to be willing to tell the truth about where you've been. That is enough. That is everything.
